Our Story
It started
with touch.
How a massage therapist's frustration with skin-damaging products became a fragrance-free, barrier-first skincare brand made in Canada.
Cassandra is a registered massage therapist and craniosacral practitioner. For years, she worked with people whose skin was reactive, dry, or sensitive — skin that had been through stress, illness, or years of over-complicated routines. She noticed something that bothered her.
The products most people trusted to calm their skin contained fragrance. Or essential oils. Or active ingredients that made reactive skin worse. The packaging was beautiful. The marketing was warm. But the formulas weren't built for the skin she was seeing every day.
Nude Mood started as a response to that gap — not a beauty brand, but a practitioner's standard. The question that drove every formula wasn't "what does this smell like?" — it was: "does this genuinely support the skin, or does it just feel like it does?"
The practitioner standard
In massage and bodywork, you develop a different relationship with skin. You feel how it responds to touch, temperature, and texture. You notice when a product makes the skin more reactive, not less. You become calibrated to the difference between something that helps and something that just creates a pleasant sensation.
That calibration is the foundation of Nude Mood. Every formula starts with what it leaves out: fragrance, essential oils, drying alcohols, unnecessary actives. What's left has to earn its place by doing something real for the skin barrier.
Why fragrance-free matters more than "natural"
The clean beauty world has made fragrance complicated. "Natural" fragrance can still be a problem. Essential oils are aromatic compounds regardless of their source. Unscented isn't the same as fragrance-free. Nude Mood uses none of it — because it's the most common cause of contact sensitivity in skincare, and this brand was built for people who are done guessing whether their products are part of the problem.
Made in Canada, for Canadian skin
Canadian winters are genuinely hard on skin. Cold, dry outdoor air and heated indoor air create conditions that compromise the skin's surface faster than most temperate climates. When we say the formulas were developed with Canadian skin conditions in mind, that's not marketing copy — it's the reason barrier support is the first principle, not a secondary feature.
Formulation Standards
What we always leave out.
Fragrance-Free (
Fragrance is the most common trigger for sensitive and reactive skin. Every Nude Mood formula is fragrance-free — by design, not as a compromise.
No Drying Alcohols
Drying alcohols strip the skin's surface moisture. Our formulas rely on humectants and emollients instead.
Every formula is built around supporting the skin's natural moisture barrier using gentle humectants and nothing that works against it.
Barrier-First
Vegan Formulated
No animal-derived ingredients. Every formula uses plant-based and synthetic alternatives that are fully traceable.
Made in Canada
Formulated and manufactured in Canada under Health Canada cosmetic regulations. Canadian climate shapes how we think about skin comfort year-round.
Every formula is built around supporting the skin's natural moisture barrier using gentle humectants and nothing that works against it.
