We don't hide behind marketing language. Here's a plain-language look at the ingredients we use, what they do, and why they belong in a barrier-first formula.

Mastic Resin
Skin-Conditioning Agent
A natural resin from Pistacia lentiscus trees on the island of Chios. Used in our body balm for its skin-compatible texture and centuries of documented traditional use. Subtle, resinous.
Glycerin
Humectant
One of the most well-studied humectants in cosmetic formulation. Draws moisture from the environment into the skin's outer layers, helping maintain surface hydration throughout the day.
Plant-derived, vegan. Appears in nearly every Nude Mood formula.
Shea Butter
Emollient
A plant-derived fat rich in oleic and stearic fatty acids naturally present in skin lipids. Supports surface softness and helps the skin feel less tight after washing.
We use cosmetic-grade refined shea for consistent, neutral performance.
Mango Seed Butter
Emollient / Occlusive
Smooth, non-greasy texture. Rich in stearic and oleic acids. Complements shea butter in texture while providing lightweight occlusion.
Fragrance-free and odour-neutral after processing.

Calendula Extract
Plant Extract
Derived from Calendula officinalis flowers. Used as a cosmetic skin-conditioning agent in formulas intended for dry and reactive skin. Historically used in topical preparations.
Used as a cosmetic skin-conditioning agent. No drug-like claims.
Cocoa Butter
Occlusive Emollient
A rich fat from the cacao plant, high in stearic and palmitic acids. Used in our soap bar for firm texture and post-wash skin feel.
Natural cocoa scent is neutralised during processing where needed. Not a fragrance addition.
pH Adjusters
Formulation Control
Citric acid or sodium hydroxide used to bring formulas to an appropriate pH for skin compatibility and ingredient stability. Healthy skin is slightly acidic; formulas should respect that.
These are functional ingredients, not active treatments.
Preservatives
Microbial Safety
Any formula containing water requires preservation to prevent microbial growth. We use cosmetic-grade preservatives tested for efficacy and skin compatibility. We don't skip preservation in the name of "natural."
Unpreserved water-containing products can grow bacteria and mould. Safety comes first.

No Fragrance Option
Fragrance is the most common trigger for sensitive and reactive skin. Every Nude Mood formula is offered fragrance-free. By design, not as a compromise.
No Drying Alcohols
Drying alcohols strip the skin's surface moisture. Our formulas rely on humectants and emollients instead.
Barrier-First
Every formula is built around supporting the skin's natural moisture barrier using gentle humectants and nothing that works against it.
Natural Formulated
All natural ingredients. Every formula uses plant-based ingredrients that are fully traceable.
Made in Canada
Formulated and manufactured in Canada under Health Canada cosmetic regulations. Canadian climate shapes how we think about skin comfort year-round.
